Michael Koehler

Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church

The Rev. Michael A. Koehler has served as Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church since April 2020 and is the spiritual leader of the Trinity Episcopal School community. Father Michael and the members of Trinity Episcopal Church view the school as both an important ministry and a meaningful outreach of the church. He is deeply committed to supporting the spiritual life of the school, offering a student-driven message each Wednesday during chapel that encourages reflection, growth, and connection to Christ’s teachings.

Known for his welcoming and approachable spirit, Father Michael provides pastoral care for all members of the Trinity school community, including students, staff, parents, and friends. He sees his role as walking alongside others in both times of celebration and times of challenge, fostering a church and school community of faith, love, and belonging.

Father Michael brings a strong background in both parish and school ministry. He previously served as Curate at St. Stephen’s in Wimberley, Associate Chaplain at TMI Episcopal in San Antonio, and Assistant Rector at St. Luke’s in San Antonio. Before his ordination, he was Youth Minister at St. Thomas in San Antonio.

A lifelong Baylor Bear fan, he earned his degree in Speech Communication from Baylor University before receiving his Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.

He is married to Erin Koehler, and together they are the proud parents of three boys. Outside of ministry, Father Michael enjoys watching sports with his sons, running, spending time in the mountains, and sitting in the chapel at Camp Capers.
