Marie Lester
Middle School Science
With a decade of teaching experience, eight of those years spent at Trinity, Mrs. Lester has become an integral part of both our school and community. She brings a special perspective to her role as both a teacher and a mother of four sons who also attend Trinity, giving her a deep appreciation for the nurturing community that Trinity fosters.
Though teaching wasn’t always part of her original plan, the last ten years have been incredibly rewarding. She finds daily inspiration in her students’ excitement, curiosity, and those precious ‘aha’ moments. These are the moments when a concept suddenly clicks, and the students’ eyes light up with understanding. She finds immense satisfaction in guiding them through their learning journeys, helping them overcome challenges, and seeing the pride they feel in their accomplishments. These instances of discovery and clarity are what fuel her passion for teaching. Each “aha” moment reaffirms the importance of her role, as she not only imparts knowledge but also fosters a love of learning in her students. Watching them grow intellectually and emotionally through these moments brings her the greatest reward as an educator. “My teacher fuel isn’t just coffee,” she jokes, “it’s the fun and hugs from my students that keep me going!”
Her passion for teaching is deeply tied to Trinity’s sense of community, and her favorite school tradition is chapel. The weekly gathering of students for worship, with messages and music tailored to them, holds a special place in her heart. She finds beauty in the participation and interaction of the students during chapel, as they connect with God and each other. For her, chapel represents the spiritual heartbeat of Trinity, reinforcing the values of love, kindness, and faith.
To her, being a Patriot means being part of a community that grows together, celebrates each other’s achievements, and supports one another. “We’re always striving to do what’s best for each other,” she adds. As both a teacher and a mom, she feels deeply appreciated and valued at Trinity. “It’s like being part of a close-knit community, constantly evolving and adapting to meet everyone’s needs.”
Outside of the classroom, she enjoys traveling, reading, practicing yoga, camping, and organizing. Her energy and passion for both teaching and her family truly embody the spirit of Trinity. We are fortunate to have her on our team, and we look forward to many more years of her dedication and enthusiasm!
