Welcoming Our Teacher and Librarian: A Passion for Faith, Family, and Learning

We are excited to introduce our new middle school English teacher and school librarian, Mrs. Teresa Schauer, who brings a wealth of experience and a heart full of passion to our school community. With 34 years of teaching under her belt, she has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring students, creating a welcoming and supportive environment in every school she’s been a part of. Though new to our school, she has already made a significant impact through her commitment to building relationships and fostering a love for learning.

Her journey as an educator began early, inspired by her mother, who was also a teacher. She credits her mom with teaching her the importance of forming genuine connections with each and every student. “Building relationships is the foundation of learning,” she shares, a philosophy that she has carried throughout her career. Whether she is guiding students through literature, helping them discover new worlds in the library, or simply listening to their stories, she strives to make each student feel seen, heard, and valued.

One of the aspects she cherishes most about being a part of our school is the ability to share her faith openly. She finds the spiritual support at the school to be incredibly inspiring and appreciates the opportunity to grow alongside her students in a nurturing, faith-filled environment. For her, being a Patriot is about more than just being a part of a school—it’s about being a part of a family. She believes that a true Patriot supports others, contributes to the community, and helps create a space where everyone can thrive.

Over the years, she has worn many hats in education, teaching various grade levels and serving as a librarian. Her extensive experience allows her to adapt her teaching style to meet the needs of her students, whether they are exploring literature in the ELA classroom or finding their next favorite book in the library. She is passionate about helping students become lifelong readers and writers, encouraging them to express themselves and find their voice through storytelling and creativity.

Outside of school, she finds joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her family, delving into a good book, or baking up delicious treats. In fact, she has turned her love for baking into a small business, where she gets to share her culinary creations with others. Her baking business is a reflection of the same dedication and care she brings to teaching—always striving to make things a little sweeter for those around her.

We are thrilled to have such a dedicated educator join our team, and we know she will continue to be a source of inspiration for students and staff alike. Her commitment to faith, family, and education embodies what it means to be a part of our community, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact she will make in the years to come.
