JoEllen Woods

K5 Teacher

I graduated from Southwest Texas State University in December of 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education (which is a really long way to say I am certified to teach grades PreK through 6th).

I am happy to say that I will be starting my 26th full year of teaching early childhood this year. I began my teaching career at Northwest Elementary in Pflugerville ISD teaching Kindergarten for a very happy year and a half. Then I made my way to Baytown, Texas to teach Kindergarten and PreK in Goose Creek CISD for the next 14 fabulous years. When my family and I moved to Victoria, I began my VISD career teaching Kindergarten at Rowland Elementary for 4 fabulous years and now I am very excited to be returning for a seventh year as one of your Kindergarten teachers here at Trinity Episcopal School!

I have been married to my husband Dickson for 26 fun filled years and we have two sweet babies of our own; our 19 year daughter Sarah who is attending Texas State University as a sophomore this year and our 12 year old son Hunter who will be in 7th grade here at Trinity. We also have a gecko named Hidey, a bearded dragon named Pepper, a sweet cat named Sage, a little black and white kitty named Annie who we call Bad Kitty (but she’s sweet too), 2 dogs named Gabby and Jethro Gibbs and 1 fish named Poseidon.
