Celebrating 24 Years of Teaching: A Journey of Inspiration, Loyalty, and Joy

With 24 years of experience in education, Mrs. Piper Harrison’s teaching journey has been one of dedication, growth, and an unwavering passion for inspiring young minds. For the past 18 years, she has called Trinity Episcopal School home, where she currently teaches K3 students. Her career has spanned nearly two and a half decades, filled with countless moments of joy, discovery, and learning—both for her and her students.

Her teaching philosophy has always centered on fostering curiosity and encouraging a love for learning in her students. Throughout her journey, she has embraced each new challenge with enthusiasm, knowing that her impact extends far beyond the classroom. She has found deep fulfillment in seeing the growth and transformation in her students over the years, recognizing that these moments are the true rewards of her career.

One of her favorite traditions at Trinity is the Chapel Buddies program, where the youngest students form friendships with the oldest. For her, these connections are truly heartwarming. “Watching the oldest students play, make connections, and form friendships with the youngest is such a full circle moment,” she shares. “It’s incredible to see the bond that forms between them, and it really captures the spirit of our school community.” This tradition, along with the daily interactions she shares with her students, serves as a reminder of the significance of her role as an educator.

When asked what being a Patriot means to her, she focuses on the values of loyalty, kindness, and compassion, traits that she believes embody the essence of the Trinity community. “Being a Patriot is about more than just school spirit,” she says. “It’s about living by values that guide us in our relationships and actions—showing kindness, staying loyal to those around us, and always being compassionate.”

Outside of the classroom, she is a passionate Texas A&M University fan, who embraces all things Aggie—”Whoop!” she proudly exclaims. Her love for Texas A&M is something she carries with her, both in her personal life and in the enthusiasm she brings to her classroom. Looking ahead to 2025, she is preparing for two very special family events—her oldest and youngest children are both getting married. This exciting milestone brings her great joy and serves as a reminder of how much her family has grown alongside her teaching career.

As she reflects on her 24-year journey, she takes pride in the relationships she’s built and the countless lives she’s touched. Her dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning has defined her career. Her commitment to her students, the values she holds dear, and her love for teaching are what make her a cornerstone of the Trinity community. As she looks forward to the future, her passion for education remains as strong as ever, and her journey as a teacher continues to inspire those around her.
